Who we are

J-Lar LLC (“we”, “us”) operates j-lar.net. Contact: contact@j-lar.net. TODO(jake): postal address.

What we collect

Mailing list. When you sign up we store your email address, the time you signed up, the page you signed up from, which version of this policy was shown, and the time you confirmed. We do not record your IP address or browser details with your signup. Addresses that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days.

Purchases. TODO(jake): once the store opens, orders are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. We receive your name, email address, what you bought and the order reference, so we can deliver your download and license file.

Server logs. Our web servers log requests (IP address, time, page, browser) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are kept for TODO(jake) 14–30 days.

Why, and on what basis

We email the list only because you asked us to (consent), and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Order data is processed to fulfil your purchase (contract). TODO(jake): confirm lawful bases.

Who we share it with

• Email delivery: our own mail server (Mail-in-a-Box on Amazon Lightsail), operated by J-Lar LLC.
• Hosting: our own server. TODO(jake): name the hosting provider.
• Paddle (payments), once the store opens.

We do not sell personal data. No advertising or analytics cookies are used on this site.

How long we keep it

• Confirmed subscribers: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record that you unsubscribed, so that we don’t email you again.
• Encrypted backups: TODO(jake) retention period.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Every list email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Contact contact@j-lar.net. If you are in the EU/UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
